The Green Ridge School District is currently hosting the Class 1, District 8 Women's Basketball District Tournament. On Tuesday the 21st, the Green Ridge girls played Lutheran (Kansas City) in the opening round. It was a very close and intense game from tip-off to the final horn, but Lutheran pulled out a close victory 49-41 and moves on to the second round. In other action from opening night, Chilhowee defeated Kingsville 34-31 and will now face #1 seed Leeton in the second round. Northwest downed La Monte 61-30 and moves on to play Lutheran.
