Students in Ms. Tylar's 5th and 6th period social studies classes had an engaging lesson today! As she presented the lesson: Voting in Congress--It's more than just "Yea" or "Nay," students had to take on the role of a Senator or Representative and choose a Political Party. Then, based on their position, the students made decisions about how they would represent their constituents as bills were introduced for a vote!
Mrs. Warner's 1st graders have been solving word problems with an unknown addend. Keep up the good work!!!

FBLA Students toured the Bureau of Engraving and Printing - Western Currency Facility. Pictures aren’t allowed.
We learned a little Texas History and watched the Cattle Drive in Fort Worth. They had lunch and a line dancing lesson at Billy Bobs.
We ended the day touring the Dallas Cowboys Stadium!"
The Missouri State High School Volleyball Coaches Association just announced the 2023 All State Team. Our very own, Nevaeh Washington, #12 Senior MB, was named to the Class 1 team! Nevaeh finished her season at the top of the Missouri leader boards in class 1. She ranked 11th in aces, 14th in digs, 17th in kills, and 32nd in blocks! Coach Larimore and Coach Cowart are proud and excited for Nevaeh as this is well deserved. Please help us congratulate her!

Mrs. Shoop's class started a unit over 2 digit addition. They practiced using ones to make a group of ten and counted what was left. GR8 work!!!
Students in Mr. Taylor's class are creating their US government tree with the branches of government and duties of each branch represented by leaves.

"Over the last few weeks, my students have been working on travel brochures. They got to pick their state and they had to research and make a creative and informative brochure. They did such a great job, and today to finish off the unit we got to present our brochures to Mrs. Johnson’s third grade class!😊"
Team building in Coach Cannon's PE classes!
Mrs. Piscopo's class has been learning about soil and rocks in science. They each made a rock collection, used a magnifying glass to study the rocks, and wrote describing words for the rocks in the collection. It was nice to have a high school cadet available to help support students during this lesson!

Harmony performed an Armed Forces Medley while we honored each branch of the military.
A heartfelt thanks to our guest speaker, veteran Barry White, who also formerly served as President and member of the Green Ridge R8 School Board. Thank you for your service to our school and to our country!
The Presentation of the Colors by the Green Ridge Chapter of the Sons of the American Legion was very special. It was followed by the playing of The National Anthem (led by Jr.High Chorus and Harmony)where veterans stood at attention to salute the flag and civilians placed their hand over their heart.
