Lady Tigers had a full night of volleyball against the Windsor Greyhounds.
The JV team played a tough 3 sets losing to Windsor 25-23, 24-26, 13-15. Isabel Knoernschild fired up the offense at the net with 3 kills and 2 blocks. Knoernschild also served for 2 aces. Jelissa Atwood added 5 kills and 1 ace for the Tigers. Miley Hayes added to the effort as well with 3 kills and 1 ace.
In the Varsity match, Lady Tigers dominated the first 2 sets, but couldn't pull it together to win a 3rd losing to Windsor 25-22, 25-17, 21-25, 21-25, 12-15. Hitting errors put the brakes on the Tigers offense and they never found the right gear. Kayley Goodman finished with 14 kills and 7 aces. Nevaeh Washington had 9 kills, 2 blocks and 3 aces. Kelsey Buxton had 8 kills, 3 blocks and 3 aces and Miley Hayes added 4 aces fromnthe service line.
Lady Tigers will be hitting the practice gym Wednesday to prepare for Thursday's Kaysinger matchup with the Stover Bulldogs.
Today was a successful day on the golf course for our Lady Tigers. Ava Needy and Ashlee Martin both shot their personal best at the Marshall Invitation Golf Tournament. “Playing tougher competition early in the season is only going to help our team be better in the long run and during the post season push. I was proud of the maturity they showed on the course and battled through adversity through the round.,” said Coach Doane. Our next girls golf match is Thursday at the Sedalia Country Club, followed by Senior Night at the volleyball game.

The Green Ridge Lady Tigers 🐅 Golf Team is at the Marshall Invitational Golf Tournament today. "We are excited to get our first 18 hole tournament of the season underway. There are a lot of good golfers here today that is going to prepare us for the District Tournament next month. We are improving each day and I’m anxious to see how we shoot today," stated Coach Hayden Doane.

GR Lady Tigers did not place, but played well at Cape this weekend.
Today they played in remembrance of all who lost their lives and were directly impacted by 9/11 twenty years ago today. We remember!

The GR8 Tiger Band did a fantastic job at the Cole Camp Fair last night. Band Director, Ashley Bates, stated, "We received so many compliments on our uniforms and playing from Green Ridge community members last night as well as Cole Camp community members and those in attendance from surrounding communities. The crowd was blown away by the band’s performance. I was little emotional when we marched up to that grandstand and the kids turned to play. I am beyond proud of them and to be a part of the GR8 team." Congratulations to all!

Fall sports senior night recognition will take place following the varsity volleyball match on Thursday, September 16th against Stover. We will honor athletes in Girls Golf, Boys/Girls Cross Country, Soccer, and Volleyball.
Tigers soccer lost in their first match of the season last night to Odessa 8-0. The Tigers started a young group of athletes, and debuted a first time goalie in the loss. The Tigers start the Clinton tournament tonight with another challenging Raytown South team. Good luck Tigers!
Lady Tigers (0-3) suffered another loss against Santa Fe Tuesday night losing in 3 straight sets 7 - 25, 13 - 25, 14 - 25. Nevaeh Washington led the Tigers offense with 4 kills. Matti Mergan ran the offense ending with 4 assists for the night while Kayley Goodman had 4 aces and 3 digs, But Santa Fe overpowered lady Tigers with excellent serving and a high powered offense.
In the JV match Lady Tiger's(0-2-1) split the 2-set match winning the 1st set 25-19 and losing the 2nd 16-25. Zakiyah Morse led the Tiger's offense with 3 kills, 3 aces, and 3 digs. Mikensey Devorss added 3 kills and 4 digs. Miley Hayes finished with 6 assists and Jelissa Atwood added 2 aces.
Lady Tigers return to action Thursday September 9 when they face Crest Ridge Cougars at home.

Going up against some bigger schools, and a state champion golfer from last year. I was happy with how our girls came out and competed. We got a few days off and then we will be getting prepped for our first 18 hole match of the year next week.
Green Ridge Lady Tigers took another loss in Thursday night's match with the Knob Noster Lady Panthers losing in 3 sets 18 - 25, 17 - 25, 11 - 25.
In the varsity match, the Tigers (0-2) were led by Kaylee Goodman and Matti Mergen with 3 kills a piece. Mergen also finished with 5 assists for the night while Goodman added 2 aces and 3 digs. Nevaeh Washington led the team defensively with 7 digs and 2 solo blocks and chipped in 2 aces of her own.
The junior varsity (0-2) played a tough 3 sets losing 25 - 19, 25 - 23, 9 - 15. Miley Hayes led the Tigers with 3 aces, 2 kills, and 5 assists. Mikensey Devorss chipped in 3 kills, 1 ace. Mallory Reed set up the offense with 6 assists and 1 ace. Zakiya Morse led the team with 5 digs and Macy Reed chipped in 4 digs for a strong defensive game.
Lady Tigers next match will be Tuesday September 7 when they play Santa Fe Chiefs in the The Ridge.
Green Ridge Lady Tigers lost to Sweet Springs Greyhounds in their season opener Tuesday night in four sets: 25-22, 23-25, 16-25, 21-25.
Nevaeh Washington led the tigers with 10 kills and four aces. Kayley Goodman added eight kills. Kelsey Buxton served 4 aces and added 3 kills to contribute to the match. Molly Mahalovic and Matti Mergen both served for 3 aces. Molly added in 3 more kills to help her team and Matti dished out 18 assists, but Sweet Springs controlled the tempo with a strong serving game.
In the JV match Tigers lost in three sets 16-25, 25-16, 16-14. Grace Warner led the offense with 5 kills and 2 aces. Miley Hayes served 4 aces. Isabel Knoernschild, Zakiyah Morse, and Mackenzie Devorss all added two kills for the Tigers.
Lady Tigers will be working hard to prepare for their next match Thursday 9/2 when they travel to Knob Noster.
The Green Ridge Girls’ Golf Team began their season tonight at the Sedalia Country Club vs Sacred Heart and Cole Camp.
Ava Needy shot a 57 and finished in 2nd place.
Ashlee Martin shot a 59 and finished tied for 3rd place
Abbey Harding completed her first ever golf match hitting a lot quality golf shots.
Coach Doane was proud of the girls and how they competed in their first golf match of the season. He is looking forward to building on this momentum and carrying it throughout the rest of the season. The girls are going to go fix a few things on the range tomorrow and get back after it again on Thursday in the Marshall Quad Match.

Students in Mrs. Harrison's 5th and 6th grade math classes reviewed multiplication as they played Multiplication War.
There has been a change in tomorrow’s menu (Friday). We will be serving cereal instead of biscuits and gravy for breakfast.
Our sixth graders enjoyed some team building activities in PE. Their task was to build hula hoop huts.
