From Mrs. Anderson: "In Desktop Publishing we talked about setting goals and then created vision boards. When creating graphics as well as goals we talked about how a clear vision and goals are important in the business world.  The students participated in a gallery walk guessing goals students set.  Then we evaluated if we made our graphic clear or if it needed improvement."

It's Read-A-Thon time again! We are asking our K-6 students to read 20 minutes every day, and ask friends and family to pledge money to them for their reading. Help us raise funds for field trips, and many other things provided by PTO.

Fall Awards Assembly
We have been away from school for a while and just now able to recognize our December 2023 Students of the Month. Congratulations to Spencer Melville (3rd), Dale Rupe (5th), Arianna Burton (7th) and Gage Howe (10th)! You have embodied our expectations of being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. GR8 Job Tigers! Spencer Melville Spencer is a hardworking student. He does what is asked of him to the best of his ability. When asked to try to figure out what to do, he reads, rereads, tries, and retries until he figures it out. If another student needs help, he is the first to volunteer, no matter who the student is. He is a good friend to all. If someone feels left out or upset, he will invite them to join in whatever he is doing. His attitude and kindness are greatly appreciated by his teacher and the students. Dale Rupe DALE IS THE BEST!!! In all seriousness Dale is the definition of a model student. His eagerness for school and determination to give his absolute best for all of his teachers does not go unnoticed. If you need anything done, Dale will happily volunteer to help. It doesn't stop there though, Dale has been caught many times teaching his peers when they need help with a math concept, or social studies vocabulary. You know what you're going to get from Dale every day, a student that follows the expectations and gives 100% effort. Arianna Burton She is always in line with our PBIS targets. She is responsible - she is the first and sometimes the only student who finds out what work she will miss when an event is coming up and will be missing class; respectful - she has such great manners, please and thank you regularly and offers help when needed; safe - generally she is great at following rules, ready for class, walking down the hall, mindful of others Gage Howe Gage has been doing an excellent job of demonstrating respect and responsibility this year. He has worked diligently to complete and turn in his assignments and makes sure to communicate with his teachers if he misses class for any reason. Gage also demonstrates respect towards his teachers by being willing to assist with tasks when needed. Gage also actively participates in class discussions and projects. We are grateful to have friends like these amazing students helping one another at Green Ridge R-8 School District. Go TigerNation!

From Mrs. Fox: "The Sophomores traveled to SFCC-CTC today to visit two programs they might be interested in attending their Junior and Senior years. GR students who are interested need to apply by February 1st. Talk to your sophomore student to see what they thought of today's visit. CTC offers several wonderful programs with great opportunities, including a chance to earn dual credit. These programs are offered at no cost to our students."

From Mrs. Lamar: "We finished up learning about Martin Luther King Jr. today in class. We drew a picture of something we wish for the world in our dream bubbles. When we completed that, we had a gallery walk so that we could talk about each of them and ask each other questions."
